Self-Audit

WorkPlace HR works closely--typically under the direction of your company's counsel or FortneyScott--to conduct self-audits to assess legal compliance and enable employers to reduce or eliminate legal risks and exposures. In particular, we offer experience in assessing compliance in Wage and Hour matters (exempt classifications, compensation, compensable work and many other areas), FMLA (the design and implementation of effective policies and practices), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and OSHA compliance. We provide audit results that can be easily understood and used to make any necessary remedial actions.

As a follow-on to our self-audit services, our team has extensive experience in supporting employers and federal contractors in developing policies, procedures and processes in order to create and improve self-governance standards. These services include developing and implementing legally compliant employment selection processes for clients, conducting required analyses involving applicants, hiring, promotion, and termination decisions, and deployment of self-assessment tools for ongoing monitoring of employment decisions. Depending on the client’s needs, we can provide the full range of services from designing and implementing the necessary systems, to working with and training the company’s personnel to perform these self-governance functions.
