  • Conducting Investigations--This interactive learning session will instruct HR professionals on how to conduct legally compliant workplace investigations. Components include: determining when you need an investigation; effectively structuring an investigation to be protected by the attorney-client communication and attorney work product doctrines; determining the scope of the investigation; reviewing laws that impact the investigation; learning effective interviewing techniques; analyzing findings; developing a summary of findings; following up post-investigation; and complying with record keeping requirements.
  • Responding to Charges of Discrimination--This learning session provides instruction on how to respond to charges of discrimination. It is recommended that attendees take the "Conducting Investigations" session before enrolling in this one. Components of this workshop include: investigating and gathering facts and documents to respond to discrimination charges; writing comprehensive investigative reports; writing persuasive position statements and responses; developing strategies for agency charge response; developing and implementing corrective action and follow-up; taking steps to minimize any basis for retaliation claims; and understanding agency dispositions – what happens after a charge is filed.
  • Workplace Harassment Matters, including Sexual Harassment Prevention--Employers who provide harassment training benefit by having an additional defense to potential legal liabilities that may result from harassment claims. The session will instruct your workforce on how to recognize and resolve workplace harassment matters, including sexual harassment. Components include: responding to complaints and harassment; understanding legal parameters and consequences of unlawful harassment; prohibited conduct; understanding responsibilities and liabilities of employers, managers, and employees; mitigating the impact of harassment on the workforce; taking steps to minimize any basis for retaliation claims; and understanding and using your company’s complaint procedures.
